The other day, I dipped into the Serpentine to get a photo of a new friend of mine, Thor, who hails all the way from Germany and goes swimming at the Lido at the Serpentine as many days a year as he can bear. It's impressive and reminds me of the Polar Bear Club.

It was ridiculously cold and for the life of me, I could not figure why anyone would want to go every day of the year.
